Getting Ready for the Upcoming Wedding Show

This year is flying by so far as the Bridal Event at Willowbend Country Club creeps closer and closer. As of now, there are fifty vendors from the Cape who are participating in this show, who are all ready to showcase what they can do and show how the Cape & Islands Wedding Group really shines. A cash bar, food and dessert samplings, and prize give-a-ways will be just a few of the happenings at the show. A bridal fashion stroll will also be taking place during the show. Tickets are being sold left and right and are flying out the door. If any one is interested in purchasing tickets, head to our website at http://www.capeandislandsweddinggroup.com/ and click on "The Bridal Event" link on the main page. The show is on February 5th from 2-6 pm.
Things are getting crazy in the office while this show approaches. From trying to get our tablescape ready to planning where each vendor will go in the show, things couldn't be busier right now. All of the vendors have been working so hard on this show and it's exciting to see the outcome of it. This will be our very first wedding show as a group and should be something that none of us will forget. I have been keeping my senior planner, Kelly and my great new intern, Marissa busy with office work and helping with my 2011 clients while I have been busy with the wedding show preparations. I have had some great new client meetings in the past few weeks and can tell it we are in for a great and busy season ahead!

Chatham Bars Winter Wedding

Chaffee Wedding Slideshow by Ralph Alswang Photography
Saturday,January 8th,  The Perfect Plan had it's first wedding for the 2011 season for the most amazing couple.  Both military our intimate guest list of 80 included many of their long time friends that they had served with in their military careers.  The romantic candlelit ceremony was held in front the amazingly cozy fireplace in the South Lounge and their elegant reception held in the main dining room.  Chatham Bars is the best place for a winter wedding.  The place was decorated so beautifully with Christmas trees and white lights and as always their service to my bride and groom was top notch.  I had the awesome opportunity to work with a photographer, Ralph Alswang, from DC but a local on Cape Cod in the summer months.  This was our first time to work together and he was amazing.  Don and Mary, our bride and groom included their grown children in the ceremony processional with both her sons, military in military attire.  The music choice for the evening was a celtic harpist and fiddler and it was a refreshing change, it set the ambience for their dinner and ceremony.  The flowers and candlelight decor was provided by All About Flowers for Weddings with the bride and attendants carrying bouquets of calla lilies.  It was a great start to our season with an amazing couple and their gratitude for our services left us ending the event with another satisfied client.  I hope to do more winter weddings as I find them to be special, intimate and a wonderful change of pace to my tented summer events.  Watch for the amazing photos to come!

Vendor Highlight/Chapins Catering

So after blogging about my activities with The Perfect Plan I want to start sharing with you all my vendor spotlights. For the first Vendor Spotlight I would like to introduce you all to is Chapins Catering. I met this fabulous group of catering professionals at a large wedding over a year ago that we did together. They were phenomenal! Their catering team is led by Executive Chef, Kevin Violet. His approach is creative, innovative, and service oriented. One of our favorite things about him is how approachable and hands on he is with all his clients. A refreshing change from the chefs that are difficult to deal with and unapproachable. The rest of the Chapins catering team is personable, professional and dedicated to client service. Working with them is not only an enjoyable experience for me and my team of planners but they exceed my clients expectations every time. Chapins focuses and dedicates their catering services to one special event per day putting quality above quantity every time. If you are looking for a fun place to take the family for dinner on Cape Cod visit Chapins Restaurant in Dennis which is open year round. In the summer months, Dennisport is home to their more casual restaurant, Chapins Fish n Chips. In the off season they have hosted weddings and rehearsal dinners there for some of my clients. It is now one of my favorite hangouts when I am not working events! Don't wait to long to check them out for your next event as they book up quick! Below are some photos that depicts what they do! Enjoy!
